Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - 10 April: I am flying!

A good day on all fronts - although condolences due to Wildrides regarding his cat - all cat owners know how he feels today. I digress. In this podcast I look again at Horse Hill and my mind wanders back to 2003 and Avington. I look at Coms and ask if Dave Breith is an insider dealer as well as a shite ex-CEO? Then it is on to Tethys Petroleum en passant Software Radio and then the highlight of the day, POS AIM Casino dog with fleas Clear Leisure appointing Big Ray Zimmerman and his bunch of muppets at ZAI Corporate Finance as its new Nomad.

Coms – email from Dave Breith

In the BearCast of Friday I suggested that Coms should have settled £825,000 to Ian Smith’s Castleton on 5 November. Dave Breith of Coms has emailed me to clarify.

I heard your bearcast and the actual deferred consideration that Coms had to pay is / was due on the 21st November. However Coms settled the deferred monies early under a settlement agreement on the 31st October at £825,000 and paid this by same day electronic transfer.

Thanks for that Dave.

Coms – Lunch with Dave Breith

Fair dues to Dave Breith, the CEO of Coms (COMS). I ripped him apart a couple of weeks ago HERE and he popped into Real Man yesterday and insisted on buying me lunch. I had a salmone e penne, he had a Thai chicken pizza. The food was great and I rather warmed to the man who accepted that my comments were fair.

He admitted that the need to restate accounts was a howling error. He does not wish to start a witch hunt but we talked through how it happened and I do not blame HIM. I accept him at his word that actions will be taken which won’t be painless, to ensure that it will not happen again. I am not sure if Dave was bald before the hiccup but it has obviously been a hard time for him. I am happy to leave it at that.

Coms: I do not like being lied to & this company appears unduly incompetent: SELL

I was sitting at Real Man Pizza at noon yesterday awaiting my guest, Dave Breith of Coms (COMS). At 12.30 I tried calling to see where he was. His PA called me to say he was off sick and apologising for his second last minute let down in 3 weeks – I do want to meet the guy. As we now know Breith was not sick. That was a lie born out of apparent monumental incompetence at his firm.

I am still happy to meet Breith but he now had hard questions to answer if the Sheriff of AIM is to be convinced. I told folks not to buy at 6.125p HERE 28 days ago. I said that at 4p I might have a nibble. The shares are now 4.8p but I withdraw that advice – until Breith can counter a number of red flags I would not buy at all. But before we get to the red flags let’s deal with the lie.
